New slippers

I got some new slippers the other day.  They were only $3, can you see why?

Aren't they great?  Yes I know, thank you!  Avery likes them a lot too.  She brought them over to me this morning and wanted me to put them on her.  So of course I did.

She's so cute and fun!  You should all be jealous that I get to spend all day with her.  She just keeps getting more and more fun.  I've loved watching her grow up and learn.
In other news, I'm now 13 weeks, almost done with the first trimester.  It would be great if when the first trimester leaves it would take the morning all day and night sickness with it!  I'm not counting on it though, I'll probably be sick for another month if it goes like it did with Avery.  At least the pills (thank you modern medicine!) make is bearable.  All things considered I love being pregnant and watching my body grow and do what it is supposed to do.  Speaking of my body growing, here is a picture of me at 13 weeks, I'm getting quite big and seem to get bigger every day.  This picture was taken at the end of the day and my belly does grow a bit over the day since I have to eat every 2 hours so I don't get too nauseous, but this is about how I am now.  My belly button is getting shallower and will definitely pop out again.  I like that!  It's not every day you can see the bottom of your belly button haha!  Okay it's getting late and obviously I'm getting silly so I'll leave you with my picture.  Have a happy Conference weekend!

This Little Girl

Has her dad completely wrapped around her little finger.

Avery has been a sick-y baby today.  Lots of congestion, a fever (102.1 when I took it before she went to bed), fast short breaths, and not much of an appetite AT ALL!  She's also not wanting to drink.  So at around 10:30 tonight Louis decided we should give her a blessing (Louis is also sick:  coughing, sore throat, and headache) and called all of his brothers up here in Logan.  Jake who we've heard is also sick didn't answer, his phone went straight to voice mail.  Pug also didn't answer.  So then we called Josh (he's the sickest of us all) we didn't want to resort to it, but we knew he'd answer.  Which he did and immediately came over.  Then the sick blessed the sick.  I am grateful for the power of the Priesthood and for the wonderful men in my life.
Now back to the Avery having Louis wrapped around her little finger.  You would think that I would be the worrier in our relationship, but no, it turns out Louis is.  Before calling Josh over for a blessing he insisted that we take her temperature again.  Seriously, he insisted, I tried to talk him out of it, there's no point in worrying yourself by taking their temperature every hour.  I had just taken it 2 hours ago before bedtime.  We luckily were able to do it without waking her up.  When Josh was on his way over he took Avery out of her crib and cuddled her.  Then after Josh left he took her back and cuddled her with a lukewarm washcloth on her chest.  He held her for probably an HOUR (she was asleep in his arms) I went in multiple times saying you should lay her in bed now.  I said you can't hold her all night to which he replied yes I can.  Geez!  To stall putting her back in bed Louis asked me to listen to her breathing to see if it had gotten any better (it had a little bit).  He then said we should see if she'll drink anything before we put her down.  I went and got her water bottle, but she wouldn't drink out of it.  Louis said to go get a cup instead.  She drank a few gulps out of that.  He still was cuddling her.  I told him what's important now if for her to get a good nights rest so he should put her in bed.  He finally said okay. . .and 15 minutes later he finally came downstairs.  He sure loves his little girl.

1st appointment

Well it finally came, my first appointment for this new baby!  Unless you have a higher risk pregnancy my OB doesn't like to see you until you are 10-12 weeks.  It's weird to me, but she's a great doctor, she helps you feel relaxed and takes time to answer any questions you have.  When she's with you, it's all about you (and your baby of course).  We started by filling out all the paper work and met with the financial lady to set up a payment plan.  Then I went in and they took my blood pressure and my weight.  Then I got to have a pap smear, joy.  I was hoping I wouldn't have to, it's been just barely over a year since I've had one.  After that it was the good part, we got to see our baby!  She said, "Okay let's look and make sure there's only one in there."  I hadn't told her of my fear that I was having twins.  She kept saying it too, "Okay let's keep looking, is there only one?"  I know that for the first appointment they do verify how many babies, she just kept saying it and looking.  It seemed weird.  There is only one in there by the way!  It's a cute little peanut!  Unlike Avery who was jumping around looking like she had the hiccups at our first appointment (Louis said she was dancing around for us) this baby was more mellow and relaxed and wasn't moving around.  My doctor even shook it around trying to wake it up, but it wasn't having it.  It was just sleepy I guess.  Everything looks good, the heartbeat is strong and it is measuring right.  My due date is still October 3rd even though the baby is measuring a few days ahead at this point.  3-4 days.  It was a fun appointment!  So for the first appointment you have to have your blood drawn, I forgot about this.  It's really not that bad, I just play it up so much in my mind.  All in all a very good morning.
Here's our baby!
This is a 3D one and it's hard to make things out at
this point, but this is the face.
Maybe this will help you make it out!  Enlarge the picture
to read the descriptions.
This is me at 11 weeks, maybe this
belly is why the OB kept looking
for twins!

Wind Caves

This last weekend I thought it would be nice to take advantage of the warmer weather and go on a little hike!  Josh and Megan happened to stop by with some treats so I asked them if they would like to come too.  Of course they said yes, they also invited Alisha and Jon so they were able to come too.  I have not really explored Logan a lot so I didn't know of any places to go, Megan suggested the Wind Caves up the Logan canyon.  Sure sounds good to me!  So we headed up and started on our hike!  Within 20 paces we had 3 different people tell us, "It's really muddy," we could already tell that from their shoes.  It was still good, but we may or may not have stayed on the trail the whole time.  I also may or may not have grabbed a stick that was connected to nothing to help steady myself. . .I can't say for sure though.  It was only 1.8 miles us, but with all the switchbacks it seemed like more.  It was worth it though!  It's very pretty at the top, and the view is great.  I of course forgot my camera, but Megan sent me hers today, thank you!  You should all thank her too or else there would be no pictures this post, and that's boring.
Louis and me

I don't know what Louis is doing
It was a fun hike, and a good start to Spring!  Hopefully it's the start of Spring.  We'll see what Logan brings us.
