Sibling Supper-Harvest Party

Now to give a quick update on our fun weekend.

As mentioned in my last post Saturday we had a Brandley sibling supper (we've planned on doing this twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall), but this was the only one we did this year.  It was fantastic!!  Megan did a great job!
We started out the day by going to the American West Heritage Center for their Fall Harvest Festival.  First we rode a horse drawn carriage, and looked at the little shops they had there

We slid down a giant hill on mats, (we spend a lot of time here). . .

Watched Maya ride a pony, rode a train, watched a gun show (all I have to say about that was I'm glad they are volunteers and not paid), and looked at old tractors.

After the AWHC we headed back over to Josh and Megan's where we had a scavenger hunt.  It was lots of fun and the perfect kind of competition for the Brandley family.  I totally thought Jake and I had won, but Pug actually got first place.  He won a prize and the rest of us got a little toy.  We then made caramel for caramel apples, and when I say we I mean Alisha, Megan, and Kamila.  The rest of us watched Igor.  Maybe other people helped make the caramel, I'm not sure because I kinda fell asleep.  Once dinner was ready we headed outside to eat!  We had pot roast, DELICIOUS Mac & Cheese, rolls, the best salad I've ever had, and some yummy dessert made by me!

Everyone went back to the American West Heritage Center that night to go to the corn maze.  Louis and I decided not to go.   We don't like corn mazes:  darkness, being lost, walking randomly around, usually muddy ground, sometimes haunted.  From Megan and Jon's blogs it sounds like they had a good time though!
It was a lot of fun to be out with family all day and we look forward to the next sibling supper.  I just don't want to be the one to plan it, I think it's going to be hard to top this one that Megan planned!

That's Right!

Today I needed to use a belt because my pants are, wait for it. . .too big for me!  That's right!  It makes me super happy!
Remember this post?  Probably not, I don't think people consistently read my blog enough to remember a post from 3 months ago.  Well it's about when I started doing Jillian Michael's "Shred It" workout.  It's a really good workout and I love it! I'm not only doing the "Shred It" DVD, but a mix  of different things.  What I've been doing the most and enjoyed the most is just going on long walks with Avery.  The weather has been great lately, not hot, but not too cold.  Avery and I love being able to spend so much time outside and obviously it's working great for me because I've lost 4 pounds in the past 3 weeks. Woot woot!
I'm looking forward to a fun weekend, we're going to a Brandley Sibling Supper tomorrow and it should be a lot of fun!  Tonight Louis is going to take me out for the first time on his new motorcycle.  Oh have I not mentioned that Louis bought his first motorcycle?  Well he did!  He just finished his class and got his license and we bought helmets today so we're good to go.  Also Avery will be 11 months tomorrow.  Wow!
and still as cute and happy as ever!

Family Photos

This last weekend we had a little family photo shoot.  Louis' sister Tifannee took them for us, she loves taking pictures and was so great!  With what we had going on that day we weren't able to go out until about 7:00ish so we didn't have too much light left in the day, but we were able to get some good shots!  We hope to go out again in a few weeks and maybe then we'll have snow and I would love that!  Enjoy a few of our pictures from that night.
And I want to share a few more pictures that I took of Avery the other day.  She won't crawl away if she's in the grass so it's the perfect spot to take pictures of her!

Cinnamon Butter

I made something delicious today, and I have to share.  It would be selfish if I didn't.  It is Texas Roadhouse's Cinnamon Butter.  It took about 2 minutes to make.  Here's what to do:
2 sticks of butter (room temperature), 1 C of powdered sugar, 1 C honey, and 2 tsp cinnamon.  Mix it all together until it looks right.  It's ready to eat right away.  It would be a super easy gift!  It only makes one jar though.  I hope you try it, and enjoy it!

Birthday Wrap-up

Today is Louis' birthday, YAY 24!!  The past two years I have done a birthday week for him and this year was no different.  At least this year his birthday wasn't on conference.  He always complains that his birthday is always on conference.  So the day before the kick off to his  birthday week Kamila and I decorated our house.  It was a lot easier with someone's help this year.

Some of the events of the week included:
Delicious brunch
Treats
Presents
Awesome Superman cake

I don't really have a lot to say about the week, but today as his actual birthday I made a cake-a SUPERMAN cake.  Jake, Celestial, Maya, Teancum, Pug, and Alisha were able to come for a little celebration.

I love that I am married to my best friend.  He makes my life so much fun.  He can always cheer me up.  He's such a good dad to Avery and loves playing with her.  I love you so much Louis!
