Yesterday. . .

Louis had a mustache.
Gag!
(I don't love mustaches)

Why did Louis have a mustache you ask?  Well, come back tomorrow and I'll tell you!

Easter Weekend

We had a super fun weekend!  We will start with Friday.  Louis decided (with a little persuasion from me) to make his first ham.  He called up his dad to ask how he makes his ham because it's DELICIOUS and Louis'  ham turned out delicious as well!

Before going into the oven

We did our Easter baskets on Saturday because Avery and I were going down to my parents on Sunday.  Louis couldn't go because of work.  I thought I had the best hiding spot for Louis' basket!  I kept telling him, "You're never going to find it!"  I hid it in one of Avery's clothes bins and covered it with her clothes.  I should have put it in the bottom bin and not the top one.  He found it in about 15-20 minutes.  I also shouldn't have given him any clues.

Now you see it. . .
Now you don't!
It was still fun watching him search though
Avery enjoyed her basket
Also on Saturday we had a little Easter egg hunt/picnic for Louis' work, it was fun and I like that Josh works there as well so we have someone to talk to!  Avery got the gist of the Easter egg hunt, she learned to pick up the egg and put it in her basket.  It was cute.  I forgot my camera so whenever I get the ones from Josh and Megan I can put them up.  After the work party we went with Josh, Megan, Celestial, and Maya to the American West Heritage Center for their baby animal days.  I again forgot my camera, bummer.  It was cute to see Avery pet the animals though.  She got to pet a goat, duck, chick, and bunny.  She liked them all, but probably liked the duck the most because she knows how to say duck.  Although the bunny was probably a close second.
On Easter Sunday we went to church then came home to give Avery a nap before going down to my parents.  Avery looked so cute in her Easter dress and thanks to Megan and Celestial I was able to match her!  I had a plain black dress, but decided it wasn't Easter-y enough so I was able to borrow a purple tank top from Celestial and a purple jacket from Megan.  Thank you!

As you can tell we got sunburned Saturday
Avery and her favorite guy ever
Our family
Avery and I had fun at my mom and dad's.  We love seeing my family and don't get to that often.

Cute Elizabeth in her Easter dress
Ben was giving Lizzie a ride and so Tafton wanted to
John and I got to hide the Easter bags.  They all had numbers on them so we didn't know who would get which number.  John REALLY wanted to hide one right on top of the chimney, so I let him.  Megan and Ben came while John was on the roof so he had to hide up there for a while until they went inside.  We remembered that it was number 7 and I told everyone they really didn't want to get #7.  Ben Keeffer ended up getting it!

That was our fun weekend, I hope that everyone had a great Easter!

Toys

So it seems like pretty much every one has this ball popping musical toy thing for their child.  Am I right?

Avery has always liked it, but not more than any other toy she has and hasn't ever spent too much time playing with it.  In fact I had put it up in her closet because she didn't play with it often enough.  Today she saw it and wanted to play with it so I brought it downstairs with us.  She spent 45 minutes playing with it and was laughing the whole time!  She even figured out how to put the balls back on the slide when they fly off.  She is so cute, I love Avery so much!

So happy!

New slippers

I got some new slippers the other day.  They were only $3, can you see why?

Aren't they great?  Yes I know, thank you!  Avery likes them a lot too.  She brought them over to me this morning and wanted me to put them on her.  So of course I did.

She's so cute and fun!  You should all be jealous that I get to spend all day with her.  She just keeps getting more and more fun.  I've loved watching her grow up and learn.
In other news, I'm now 13 weeks, almost done with the first trimester.  It would be great if when the first trimester leaves it would take the morning all day and night sickness with it!  I'm not counting on it though, I'll probably be sick for another month if it goes like it did with Avery.  At least the pills (thank you modern medicine!) make is bearable.  All things considered I love being pregnant and watching my body grow and do what it is supposed to do.  Speaking of my body growing, here is a picture of me at 13 weeks, I'm getting quite big and seem to get bigger every day.  This picture was taken at the end of the day and my belly does grow a bit over the day since I have to eat every 2 hours so I don't get too nauseous, but this is about how I am now.  My belly button is getting shallower and will definitely pop out again.  I like that!  It's not every day you can see the bottom of your belly button haha!  Okay it's getting late and obviously I'm getting silly so I'll leave you with my picture.  Have a happy Conference weekend!

This Little Girl

Has her dad completely wrapped around her little finger.

Avery has been a sick-y baby today.  Lots of congestion, a fever (102.1 when I took it before she went to bed), fast short breaths, and not much of an appetite AT ALL!  She's also not wanting to drink.  So at around 10:30 tonight Louis decided we should give her a blessing (Louis is also sick:  coughing, sore throat, and headache) and called all of his brothers up here in Logan.  Jake who we've heard is also sick didn't answer, his phone went straight to voice mail.  Pug also didn't answer.  So then we called Josh (he's the sickest of us all) we didn't want to resort to it, but we knew he'd answer.  Which he did and immediately came over.  Then the sick blessed the sick.  I am grateful for the power of the Priesthood and for the wonderful men in my life.
Now back to the Avery having Louis wrapped around her little finger.  You would think that I would be the worrier in our relationship, but no, it turns out Louis is.  Before calling Josh over for a blessing he insisted that we take her temperature again.  Seriously, he insisted, I tried to talk him out of it, there's no point in worrying yourself by taking their temperature every hour.  I had just taken it 2 hours ago before bedtime.  We luckily were able to do it without waking her up.  When Josh was on his way over he took Avery out of her crib and cuddled her.  Then after Josh left he took her back and cuddled her with a lukewarm washcloth on her chest.  He held her for probably an HOUR (she was asleep in his arms) I went in multiple times saying you should lay her in bed now.  I said you can't hold her all night to which he replied yes I can.  Geez!  To stall putting her back in bed Louis asked me to listen to her breathing to see if it had gotten any better (it had a little bit).  He then said we should see if she'll drink anything before we put her down.  I went and got her water bottle, but she wouldn't drink out of it.  Louis said to go get a cup instead.  She drank a few gulps out of that.  He still was cuddling her.  I told him what's important now if for her to get a good nights rest so he should put her in bed.  He finally said okay. . .and 15 minutes later he finally came downstairs.  He sure loves his little girl.
