One Month

The first month of having Ethan in our home has gone well!  The girls adore their little brother, especially Avery.

Ethan is already a mama's boy.  He loves to be held and will only lay on the ground or in his bouncy chair for a few minutes.  You all would be amazed at all I can do while holding a baby.  Ethan does not nap well, he'll sleep for 30 minutes or so, then wake up, but will go back to sleep if you hold him.  He is slowly getting better, but really it just depends on the day and the nap.  He does have naps where he actually sleeps the entire 1 1/2-2 hours.  Thankfully, he does sleep at night really well!  He will go to bed around 11 usually and sleep about 4 hours then wakes up around 3:00 to eat and sleeps for another 4 hours.

Ethan now weighs 8 pounds 4 ounces and is starting to out grow some of his newborn clothes, which is exciting and sad at the same time.  He is rolling over from his stomach to his back.  He's been doing this since just before he turned 4 weeks!  I kept thinking it was a fluke, but he's been doing it for so long and so often, that I can't deny it any more.

The best part of this last month has been the increased love in our home.  The hardest part has been him not napping well and needing to be held a lot.  It was a hard transition of being needed so much, but you adjust and do what you need to do.  Things are going well now, we are all so happy to have Hammer here with us!
