Let's Go Fly a Kite

We had a very fun weekend together!  We didn't do anything too out of the ordinary, but just got out of the house and spent time together.  Friday we explored a new park in Smithfield and saw around 15 deer while we were there!  The kids had fun, Ethan decided he doesn't like slides very much.  They're too fast for him!

On Saturday we planned a BBQ for lunch.  Louis marinated some elk steaks and we had hot dogs for the kids.  While we were getting the grill started (which takes a while because it's a charcoal grill) we got out some fun things we had gotten from the dollar store.  The first being a Styrofoam airplane!  Louis assembled it and him and the girls took turns flying it over the yard.  It lasted about 3 minutes before a gust of wind hit it and it got taken up to the roof!  I didn't even get to see them fly it because I was inside!  The wind had a fun time tricking us while it would flip the airplane on it side looking like it was going to come down then it would flip the opposite direction and fall back on the roof.  Louis tried getting it down with a ball, but to no avail.  We then got bubbles out to play with while the food cooked.

Eventually it did fall down and we decided to wait and play with it when we headed to the park after our BBQ.  We also took a kite to the park after the BBQ.  It was a lot of fun!  We had never flown a kite with the kids before.  Louis did a great job getting the kite up in the air, then the girls had fun running back and forth with the string, and if you saw my video on Facebook or Instagram you know they didn't always keep holding onto the string!

We just had a lot of fun running around together being outside.
