Christmas 2015

This Christmas season was filled with sickness in our family.  One after another starting right before Thanksgiving.  We started out by taking turns with a stomach bug, it passed from one of us to the other.  Luckily it only lasted a day or two for all of us.  Then a bad cough went through the kids.  Mary's even progressed to croup.  So that was our December up until Christmas.  We did squeeze in a few fun things, like going to a few large nativities around Cache Valley and driving around a few times looking at Christmas lights.
Christmas Eve night we all gathered around and Louis read the Christmas story as the kids were able put together the nativity during it.  Christmas Eve dinner was lots of fun!  Earlier in the day we gave each of the kids $5 and they got to choose anything they wanted at the store with that money.  Here is what we came home with.

From left to right, I chose pizza and rolls.  Louis used Ethan's $5 and got mini corn dogs, chips, and refried beans so he could make bean dip.  Avery chose two bags of Flipz and a ridiculously expensive Dora apple juice bottle.  Mary picked frozen blueberry waffles, candy corn, and strawberry lemonade.  Pretty great well rounded meal right??  The kids loved it and looked forward to their dinner all day!  

After dinner the kids got to open their Christmas Eve pajamas and we watched The Muppets Christmas Carol.

so we had to settle for a selfie this Christmas Eve.

We sent the kids off to bed after the movie.  We may have skipped quite a bit of the movie because the girls went upstairs and played in their room after the first 20 minutes.  Once the kids were in bed put in a movie of our own.  Jurassic World.  We hadn't seen it yet and Louis made us turn it off after an hour or so because I kept jumping and grabbing his arm and he didn't want me having nightmares that night!  

The morning of Christmas we all lined up on the stairs until Louis checked to see if Santa had gone up the chimney.  Once we got the all clear we headed down and the kids got started on their stockings.  Avery was SO excited to see that Santa had brought her what she wanted, a stuffed Santa toy!  She hugged it and hugged it!  The rest of the morning was breakfast and opening presents.  Ethan even got into opening presents a bit, but got tired towards the end.  

After Ethan's morning nap we headed down to Louis' parent's house and spent the rest of the day there.  It was a very nice day and I enjoyed being able to have our own family time at home in the morning and enjoyed being with family the rest of the day.  Merry Christmas!
