A bit of a rocky start!

So we are FINALLY in Germany with Sarah! We left Thursday morning, and didn't get here until Saturday afternoon! Here's the story. . .

We got the the airport Thursday morning as I said and a while before our plane was supposed to take off we found out that our plane had some mechanical problems so they transferred us to another flight so we wouldn't miss our connecting flight. So we trecked over to the other side of the airport and right when that plane was supposed to be boarding we found out that this plane was having mechanical problems too! So we went back to our original flight to see if anything had changed there and what they could do for us. After hours of waiting we worked something out. We were put on a plane the next day to Newark and then we would go on to Frankfurt. They put us in a really nice hotel room for the night and gave us food vouchers. So even with all the disappointment they were very helpful with everything.
So the next morning we headed back to the airport for our flight out. Everything was great and we got out fine with not problems YAY! Our flight to Germany on the other hand. . .first they changed our gate so we had walked all the way to one side of the terminal just to find out that we had to turn around and go all the way back to the opposite side. Then when we got to the right gate we saw that our flight was delayed an hour, then later it was delayed another hour, and then ANOTHER HOUR. Finally we got on though and everything was great and we are here safe and sound.
Oh let me back up, so our luggage was on our first plane and they moved it over to the flight they changed us to that first day. They said they would get our luggage ahead of us to Newark so they could put it on our plane to Frankfurt so we'd have it when we got off. I was trying to be optimistic through this whole thing and was very hopeful that would work. BUT it didn't. We waited with all the other passengers and eventually luggage stopped coming out. So we were without anything, but here's the good news! We just got our luggage delivered to us at Sarah's house from a guy from the airport!
We've had a great time since we got here, we got some ice cream from the ice cream guy that comes driving around and it was delicious, I got chocolate. We went on a little walk and saw where Samantha goes to school and we played on the playground near by for a little bit. Then we ate some delicious chicken taco that Sarah had cooking in the crock pot. It was really good to actually have a home cooked food, especially Sarah's you know whatever she cooks is going to be delicious.
So we started out a little down hearted, but it's turned great and we hope it continues to go that way!
